Welcome to Route Research. When you correspond with us, use our website or subscribe for our research, reports or other services (collectively, Route Data) you are consenting to our use of information about you in accordance with this privacy policy (Privacy Policy). We are committed to protecting the privacy of all clients and users of Route Data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will update you of any changes either via our website www.route.org.uk (the Site) or via email. Your interactions with Route Research and use of Route Data will be subject to the version of the Privacy Policy posted on the Site at the time.

  1.1 We are Route Research Limited (Route Research, we, us), a company registered in England under company number 03203937 and have our registered office at 43-45 Dorset Street, London, W1U 7NA.

  1.2 For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act) we are the data controller in respect of any personal data that you provide to us or that we collect from you when you use the Route Data.

2. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT

  2.1 We collect information that you provide to us when you subscribe to receive Route Data, such as name; email address and/or any other contact information; and any other information that you provide or submit to us when you contact us for any reason.

  2.2 We will only use information the we receive or collect about you in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  3.1 We may use your information:

    3.1.1 for customer service or support purposes, including to contact you about your account, to deliver Route Data to you and to deal with your enquiries or complaints about Route Data;

    3.1.2 to administer, support, develop, improve and optimise Route Data (for example, so as to improve your experience);

    3.1.3 to contact you with newsletters and information about Route Research from time to time unless you opt out of receiving such communications;

    3.1.4 to inform you about changes to Route Data and/or this Privacy Policy; and

    3.1.5 for security purposes.

4. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

  4.1 We may disclose your personal information:

    4.1.1 to any affiliate or third party where it is necessary to enable us to provide you with Route Data that you have requested (for example we may in the future use the help of third party payment providers to manage subscription payments);

    4.1.2 in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose information about you to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets as reasonably required in relation to such transaction;

    4.1.3 to any person to whom disclosure is necessary to enable us to enforce our rights under this Privacy Policy or any agreement that you have entered into with us; and

    4.1.4 as required by applicable laws.

5. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

  5.1 All information that we hold about you will be collected and processed by us or by data processors appointed by us to undertake processing on our behalf. Your information will be stored on servers located within the EU and controlled by us. If we need to transfer your information outside the EU, we will put in place appropriate safeguards in relation to the security and privacy of such data.

  5.2 We have put in place appropriate technological and operational security measures to protect information that we hold about you against any unauthorised access to or any unlawful processing. However, you acknowledge that data transmission over the Internet is inherently insecure and that we cannot guarantee the security of any data sent over the Internet.

  5.3 We will only retain your information for as long as we need to provide Route Data to you, or as long as the law permits.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

  6.1 You are entitled to know what information we hold about you and you may ask us to make any necessary changes to ensure that it is accurate and kept up to date. In certain limited circumstances you may also be entitled to request that we delete certain information that we hold about you.

  6.2 If you have any questions about the personal information that we hold about you or would like to make any requests in relation to it, please contact us using the contact information provided at the beginning of these terms.

  6.3 We reserve the right to ask you for proof of your identify and to charge you a fee of £10 to meet our costs in granting any data access request you make.

7. COOKIES

  7.1 We use cookies to ensure that you get the most out of the Site. Cookies are small amounts of information in the form of text files which we store on the device you use to access the Site.

  7.2 Cookies allow us to monitor the Site’s traffic and simplify your visits to the Site. A temporary cookie is also used to keep track of your "session". Without that temporary cookie (which is not stored after you quit your browser) you would have to log on every time you access a new page.
